LinkedIn Profile

Moe joined Lazard in New York in 1996 and was brought into the firm’s distressed debt trading group shortly after. In 1999 he founded Lazard’s Singapore debt trading operation and was made the firm’s youngest Vice President at the time.

In the early 2000s he left Lazard to launch a series of Asian credit and distressed debt funds. Across his fund-management career he raised over US$1 billion in client capital and delivered an average annual net return of 16%.

His track record was recognised repeatedly: Best Asian Distressed Debt Fund and Best Singapore Hedge Fund (2004), Best Distressed Fund (2006), Top 20 Rising Hedge Fund Stars in Institutional Investor (2007), and Singapore’s Spirit of Enterprise award (2008). He completed the Owner/President Management programme at Harvard Business School.

Today Moe leads YMC Capital’s investment strategy and portfolio construction. His focus is on special situations where control is the binding constraint — legacy LPs, defaulted credit, minority stakes without influence, and corporate subsidiaries that are no longer core. He applies the same capital-preservation discipline that has guided his career from the outset.

“The foremost emphasis must always be on the preservation of capital. Conservative and deliberate portfolio construction is always the best hedge.”

Operations

Co-Founder & COO

Clement co-founded YMC Capital and runs fund operations, technology and the digital-assets strategy. Earlier he co-founded ExPopulus, a gaming infrastructure company that raised US$15 million at a US$87.5 million valuation — one of the most recognised brands at the intersection of gaming and blockchain.

Inside the firm Clement covers the infrastructure that makes the mandate side possible — subscription tooling, investor reporting, the portal, and the governance around how a small team runs institutional-grade plumbing.

He also brings a forward-looking dimension to the firm’s investment capabilities through his active portfolio across technology and digital-asset ventures.
