What is a segregated portfolio company?

A segregated portfolio company is a legal structure where each strategy or mandate sits in its own portfolio, with assets, liabilities and net asset value legally ring-fenced from every other portfolio under the same umbrella.

Nodal SPC is our Cayman Islands Segregated Portfolio Company. YMC Capital manages capital through it. Each strategy or mandate is its own segregated portfolio, so nothing from one portfolio can bleed into another.

We use it two ways. Sponsors get a regulated fund vehicle without building a standalone fund company. Family offices and institutions get a managed account they own outright, run to the same fund standards, with nothing pooled.

Behind every portfolio sit Cayman and BVI legal counsel, a third-party fund administrator, an independent annual audit and institutional custody. The legal setup is the same whether you're a sponsor running a single-theme fund or an allocator with a dedicated account.
