YMC Insight #24
Launching the YMC Deal Network
We're opening the YMC Deal Network, a referral network for buyers, sellers, investors and their advisers. Register as a client, send us a deal or a need, or work a deal with us.
Today we're launching the YMC Deal Network. It's a referral network for buyers, sellers, investors and the advisers who work with them. Over time, the network will carry every kind of deal we work on: operating businesses, secondary interests in private companies and funds, capital raises and more. Whether you're buying, selling, raising money or you just know someone who is, you can take part.
We built it because of how deals usually get shared. You get a teaser, a deck and a Dropbox link, sign an NDA for a bigger folder, then spend weeks emailing the same questions every other buyer is asking. Often nobody has actually done an analysis of the business, or even confirmed the numbers are correct.
Our rooms work differently. We use AI and we get involved in the process ourselves, helping you get answers to your questions and understand the opportunity. Consider us an extension of your due diligence team. Everything is online and every document is stored digitally in the room, so there's nothing to chase by email.
We only take on deals we think are good, but this is a referral network. We make the introductions and run the room, and every buyer does their own diligence before deciding anything.
How you take part
| If you're | What to do |
|---|---|
| Buying or investing | Register as a client. Tell us what you're looking for, where, which sectors and at what size. Once we approve you, you get a login where you can keep those preferences up to date and tell us you're interested in a room before it opens. |
| Selling or raising capital | Submit a deal. Attach your teaser and the form fills itself in from it for you to check. |
| Looking for something specific | Submit a need and tell us exactly what you want to buy. |
| An adviser or co-investor | Work a deal with us. Introduce a buyer, advise on a mandate alongside us or invest next to us. |
| Someone who knows someone | Pass on the teaser. If you want to be a referrer, let us know. |
Our teasers are links, not PDFs, and they're designed to be shared freely. If you know someone who might be interested, please pass them on. If you'd like to act as a referrer, tell us and we'll tag you against everyone you referred.
What a deal room looks like
Every deal has its own dedicated room, which is typically customised for that particular opportunity, so every room is usually unique. The screens below are from a demo room we set up for this article. The business is and all figures are made up.

Before you sign the NDA, you see a codename, a few headline figures and the steps to get in. You request access with your name, firm and role. Once we approve it, you sign the NDA inside the room, and only then is the business name revealed.

Inside, the room is built around the deal. A restaurant group gets its sales store by store, a hotel gets its rooms and rates, a fund interest gets its holdings. Where the figures come from accounts, they're calculated from the documents loaded into the room, not typed in from a deck.

If it makes sense for the deal, we include a page with maps. If documents are in a different language, we'll do our best to translate them.

There's an interactive Q&A section where you ask us questions and the answers come back in the same place. People from your firm see the same questions and can leave each other notes. Anything every buyer should know goes into the FAQs, so it's answered once for everyone.

You can also use Ask the Deal Room, our AI assistant. It answers from the documents you've been given access to and nothing else, and where it can, it links you to the document the answer came from. In a big room that gets you to the right page without waiting on us.
The agreements you sign stay in the room, ready to download. Every document opened is recorded, and no buyer can see who the other buyers are.
If you're selling

We work through a checklist with you before any buyer is invited. It lists every document a buyer is going to ask for, with what has come in and what is still owed. Buyers don't see the checklist, only the room once it's ready.
Open now
Project Nutmeg, a Singapore restaurant group, is open and taking requests. Project Lantern, a boutique resort in Phuket, is coming soon. If you've registered, you can tell us you're interested in it from your login.
This is an early version of the Deal Network, and we'll keep adding to it over time. If there's something you'd like it to do, get in touch with us.
Nothing here is an offer of any security. Each room is for professional buyers and the advisers they appoint, and we decide who is admitted.
